Every individual should have a goal for himself so as to work in a proper direction. Setting goals will help people work harder and smarter. It will help them to keep on toes always till the goal is achieved.

Every person has a burning desire to do something unique or great in his life. And he has to set a goal first and then should proceed with proper planning and organizing. There is a quotation that “Plan out your work and work out your plan”.

One should set a realistic goal first and then work in that direction by allocating sufficient time on day-to-day basis. Goals are of two types; short-term goals and long term goals. The short-term goals must be either directly or indirectly related to long-term goals.

Committing the goals on paper and reading the same before going to bed and early morning will pay off. By adopting such techniques the goals will go to our sub conscious mind and will always remind us constantly. It serves as a reminder and thus encouraging us staying focused.

After reaching the goals the person should not quit trying and should keep setting higher goals to touch his upper limits. The person should never stay in comfort zone but should always stay in effective zone so that he can reach his tipping point very fast.

In one small village one boy’s name Jack. He was ambitious to become great in this world. He did not know how to reach his goal. He went and asked his teacher that “Sir give me some idea to reach my goal” Teacher replied that he should work hard and work smart from this age itself.  And also, he added to have positive attitude. He advised Jack to set short-term goal first and step-by-step he should reach his targets. “After reaching one goal, set another goal”. If you set a goal clearly, that means you have already completed half the way. After listening to the teacher’s golden words Jack developed confidence and started giving his best with his will power.

The moral of this story is that if you want to achieve any thing you should work hard and concentrate on your goal as it is said, “Where there is a will there is a way”.

All children should cultivate the concept of goal setting in childhood itself to achieve big in life. Swami Vivekananda aptly said “Arise! Awake! And stop not till the goal is reached”.
